Shopping at The North Face in Boston

The North Face is a popular outdoor company that designs and manufacturers mountaineering equipment and apparel, including sleeping bags, hiking packs, tents, skiwear and high-performance outerwear and footwear.

From its early days in1966, the company has been focused on developing better gear for mountaineering. As one of its first products, the company developed a lightweight and ultra-functional pack to carry gear outdoors. The Backpacking idea as we know it, was born.

This focus on improving outdoor gear continues today. Through research and extensive testing in places like Alaska, the company has developed unique materials for outdoor clothing. For example, their ThermoBall insulation technology is an eco-friendly alternative to down and keeps the wearer insulated and warm even when it gets wet.

This focus on improvement has not just benefitted mountaineers but has been adopted by city dwellers admiring its quality and versatility.
