Today L.L.Bean operates 56 stores in 19 states across the United States, along with 24 stores in Japan and eight stores in Canada. In the Boston area, there are two stores (Burlington Mall and Seaport) and of course the Flagship store in Freeport Maine, about 2 hours from Boston. -
Over time L.L. Bean has transitioned from a pure hunting and fishing store to a more gentrified version, focusing on outdoor apparel, shoes as well as hiking and camping gear. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the latest store in the Seaport area with almost 9000 square feet of glorious retail space. The ambiance is wonderful, showing off L.L. beans assortment of quality products in an attractive warm and trendy space.
The company's online presence is one of the best, reflecting its reputation for quality and “Customer First” attitude. Shipping charges are reasonable (check here) and return policies are extremely generous (check here). Basically you can return an item within 1 year of purchase for a full refund.
